The Dobell Festival

The Lake Macquarie Dobell Festival is an annual month long celebration the life and work of esteemed artist Sir William Dobell; known for his passion, innovation, fringe, experimentation and creative excellence. The festival includes a number of events occurring in various venues across the lake. 

Part of the Dobell Festival is an Art & Craft Festival held at Wangi Workers Club usually the first weekend of June. Here you can view local artist pieces and perhaps buy a special one.

On this weekend Dobell House extents its opening hours to usually 10.00am – 4.00pm on Saturday & Sunday.

This year (2023) we are also opening as a special event on the Friday 10.00am – 4.00pm.

 

Archibald Exhibition

Well we are excited!! This year the Lake Macquarie Council is hosting 2023 Archibald Prize Exhibition at the Museum of Art & Culture in Boolaroo.  From the 8th of April till 21 of May.  

As a special offer you can receive $2 off Dobell House admission if you show your Archibald ticket.
