In 2025 Dobell House will celebrate it’s 100 year.
Built in 1925 Robert Dobell (Bill’s father) had no idea he was building a memory that would be preserved as a museum dedicating it’s memory to his son & daughter Bill & Alice Dobell.
We will be celebrating in the week of the 3rd of November 2025 with a Centenary Dinner at the Workers Club on the 8th of November 2025.
The centenary committee has now agreed to 5 key events/activities to celebrate a 100 years that the house has stood.
Dobell House Opening Extended Hours – during the week of 3rd of November 2025 the house will open every day 10-3.
Digital Presentation of The Story of Dobell House (pending a grant application) – we are looking into a production of a video on how Dobell House was built/extended.
This is relying on a grant application.
Dobell House Centenary Dinner/Dance – on Saturday 8th of November 2025.
Tickets are now available.
Kids Art Competition – local schools/kids art competition
Applications commence on the 1st of June 2025.

DOBELLHOUSE CENTENARY CELEBRATION
KIDS ART COMPETITION 2025
- One artwork only per entrant.
- Must be on paper (NOT board).
- Must be unmounted and unframed.
- Must be no smaller than A4 (210 × 297 mm) and no bigger than A3 (420 × 297 mm).
- Can be vertical or horizontal.
- Any art materials or combination of art materials may be used (eg paint, pencil, pastels, paper collage)
- Open to ages from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
- There will be one prize of $100 gift voucher awarded in two categories-Junior (5 -12 year) and Senior (13 – 18 year).
- Subject should be a person or place around Wangi Wangi.
- Entries need to be submitted to Dobell House, 47 Dobell Dr, Wangi by 4th October 2025.The house will accept the entries in opening hours. Wednesday 10am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday 1pm-4pm.
- Please complete the application form provided at the house.
- Clearly label the back of the artwork with which way it should be displayed, along with name, age, address and contact details. Make sure this doesn’t show through to the front. If you can submit in a manilla folder to protect.

Entries will be judged at the commencement of the celebration. Sunday 2nd November2025 at 11am. The house will be open from 10am- 4pm, free of charge and morning tea will be provided.
