The Dobell Festival

The Lake Macquarie Dobell Festival is an annual month long celebration the life and work of esteemed artist Sir William Dobell; known for his passion, innovation, fringe, experimentation and creative excellence. The festival includes a number of events occurring in various venues across the lake. 

Part of the Dobell Festival is an Art & Craft Festival held by Wangi Lions Club at Wangi Workers Club usually the first weekend of June. Here you can view local artist pieces and perhaps buy a special one.

This year it will be held, as follows:

Opening Night and prize presentations, Friday 31 of May 2024, 7.00pm. Entry $20 includes a welcome beverage, canapes and a weekend pass.

Exhibition Hours, entry $5:

– Saturday 1 June 2024, 10.00am to 5.00pm

– Sunday 2 June 2024, 10.00am to 4.00pm

On this weekend Dobell House extents its opening hours to 10.00am – 4.00pm on Saturday & Sunday.
